From Si...
As pant wettingly awesome as snowboarding is, it probably hasn't escaped anyone's notice that it can also be a cause of financial woe. I.e. bloody expensive. However help is at hand in the form of our end of season blowout sale day. Head down to Sharkbite this Friday to make the most of the end of season bargains - * 50% or more off outerwear - jackets, board pants / salopettes. * Huge reductions on goggles / gloves / helmets * Brand new, this seasons snowboards from ?100, many at half price and even cheaper on last seasons stuff. * Bindings, boots and everything else snowboard and ski related *Crazy cheap casual clothing 50% off loads of jeans/hoodies/beanies/teeshirts etc. So, do a good deed and help us help them clear some space for summer stock. If anyone's thinking about getting stuff for easter or next year now is the time. Most distributions companies buy their stock from europe and the US which, thanks to the state of the exchange rate, means things will get a whole lot more expensive next year (like 30% more expensive than this year's RRP)so if you plan on getting kit, now's a good time. Club types will be milling around from 4pm onwards if anyone's got questions about gear choice, trips or anything else and we'll be laying on a few vaguely festive refreshments. I still don't have enough boards to build a fort out of so I'll be there bombing the crap out of my credit card. Hooray! |

So it's nearly the end of the year, which means I've no real excuse to only just be putting this up but...
Our Media Section is up and running! There's currently a few photos up there from BUSC Main Event last year, the LG Airbag event we went to at Tamworth and even some snaps from some urban snowboarding in Bristol. Go have a look! |

| Valley Rally Report - 26th Jan 09 |
|---|
|
It all began rather quietly that fateful Monday night as people from all over Bristol filtered into Racks with a somewhat subdued sense of the spectacle that lay ahead. Once rave camouflage had been tentatively applied amidst some light conversation, people were beckoned towards the Racks car park where their EPIC pilgrimage of carnage was to begin. Armed with eggs and a large amount (30 litres to be precise) of Sainsbury’s finest, things got off to a pretty chaotic start. Highlights here included a pint being long-armed atop a majestic (rave?) lion. Next stop was the union, where a dance class in full swing received inspiration from Bristol’s absolute finest nude athletic posers.
Nudity reached a whole new level in mbargos with drinks being consumed from many a crotch (and in one case butt-naked arse crack), and this was enough to make even the on-looking 7 foot bouncer teary-eyed with bewilderment. Wetherspoons was the scene of yet more nudity (naked wrestling!!?), and obscene behaviour and many old men were licked in the process (don’t worry they loved it). The next stop was probably one of the most memorable of the Valley Rally, taking place in the scenic site next to the Will’s building. Many failed attempts at naked pyramids were had, interspersed with flavoured vodka lubrication (the werthers original vodka being my personal favourite). By this point many, (myself included I must add) were starting to feel somewhat ?hooned’ (in the words of our very own social sec, Felix). The rally continued onto the White Harte, and finished up in Dojo’s where a bucket load of Alps-esque shape throwing went down to the funky beats and rhythms of Tignes superstar DJ’s Eveson and Jossi. Lack of any extra detail is due to the fact that I can’t remember it. And so it went on into the early hours of the morning and produced, for many I’m sure, one of the most brutal hangovers had in a while. Despite this, it’s safe to say that a good time was had by all and a bloody good effort was made by all involved. Bring on BUSC and post-trip Valley Rally 2.0. Posted by Sam |
